Regular meeting of STQ-25, the Technical Committee for Standardization “Metrology” under the Uzbek National Institute of Metrology, was held. It summarized the work completed in 2025 and identified priorities for 2026.
Committee consists of 17 members, including representatives of the Agency for Technical Regulation, the Uzbek National Institute of Metrology, the Institute of standards and industrial laboratories. This ensures that all areas of industry are included in decision-making process.
Meeting focused on harmonizing with international requirements and making a significant contribution to country’s accession to World Trade Organization. As noted, 20 national standards developed based on OIML documents during 2025 were reviewed. Eleven national standards aimed at ensuring uniformity of measurements were also discussed.
Committee also reviewed in detail four national standards and one preliminary draft standard developed by specialists from higher education institutions and Technopark.
The key objectives set for 2026 are even more ambitious. Specifically, it is planned to develop 16 new national standards, update 12 existing standards, prepare eight new standards to ensure measurement uniformity, and review three draft standards developed by interested organizations.
Issues of more active participation by committee members in ISO technical committees and the development of the national standardization system through strengthened international cooperation were also discussed.
At the end of meeting, open and interactive communication was held among participants. Practical proposals were put forward and ideas exchanged aimed at further improving industry.
