✅ As part of the events marking the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Metre Convention, a meeting took place in Paris, France, between the Director of the Agency for Technical Regulation of Uzbekistan (https://standart.uz/), Akmal Jumanazarov, and members of the delegation with the leadership of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) (https://www.oiml.org/en).

✅ In this meeting — attended by Uzbekistan’s representatives for the first time — the parties discussed the procedure for Uzbekistan to become a full member of the OIML (where it has held observer status since 2001), the benefits of full membership, the importance of OIML documents within the framework of the WTO TBT Agreement, the implementation of 29 OIML documents in Uzbekistan to date, and the plan to increase this number to 112 by 2027. They also reviewed the potential to expand participation of Uzbek specialists in technical committees and to join the OIML-CS certification system.
✅ During the conversation, both sides expressed agreement on developing broad cooperation across all areas related to legal metrology.
