Tajik metrologists are improving qualification in Uzbekistan

4 Tajik metrologists are improving their qualification at the Uzbek national institute of metrology (UzNIM) of the “Uzstandard” agency on the basis of the project “Strengthening the quality infrastructure in Central Asia” of the German Federal Institute of Physics and Technology (PTB).

It will be noted that experts from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are taking part in this project for 2019-2022. The project will contribute to the development of standardization, metrology, conformity assessment and accreditation systems.

Within the framework of the project, specialists of metrology laboratories of the “Tajikstandart” agency are training at the newly established calibration and reference laboratories of the Uzbek national institute of metrology on the basis of a training seminar. At the same time, metrologists and colleagues of the UzNIM exchanged experience and calibration of scales and thermometers on the basis of international methods while sharing knowledge and skills.

The main purpose of this cooperation is the introduction of new calibration services in the “Tajikstandard” agency and the preparation of laboratories for international accreditation.

In addition, the high-precision sample measuring instruments used in them are calibrated by the UzNIM, which ensures the observability of measurements up to international standards.

As previously reported, in March this year, the calibration laboratories of the Uzbek national institute of metrology were internationally accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK). As a result, the acts and conclusions of the calibration laboratories of the Uzbek national institute of metrology on mass, pressure and temperature values are recognized in more than 60 countries within the International Organization for Laboratory Accreditation (ILAC).
