The main directions of the department of state metrological control over measuring instruments for electrical and magnetic quantities: verification, calibration, testing of measuring instruments (МI) for the purpose of type approval, metrological examination, certification of test equipment and measurement procedures.

Laboratory for verification of electricity meters, current and voltage transformers

The department has the following exemplary equipment and can carry out the following works on metrological certification and verification of exemplary measuring instruments:

Electronic meters of electrical energy of any type, single-phase and three-phase accuracy class 0.1 for active energy and 0.5 for reactive energy: verified on the model MK6801 installation using an exemplary reference meter – wattmeter TsE6801 accuracy class 0.02. It is also possible to calibrate any type of single-phase and three-phase meters of electrical energy induction and electronic accuracy class 0.5 and below for active energy and accuracy class 1.0 and below for reactive energy at the installation site using a portable, reference meter – wattmeter TsE6815 accuracy class 0.1.

Current transformers with a class of 0.05 to 1000 A. They are verified using a model current transformer I-512, a comparator K535 and CT Analyzer manufactured by OMICRON (Austria)

The department possesses sufficient technical potential to carry out the verification of 1 and 3 phase meters of electric energy and high-voltage measuring current and voltage transformers, these devices both in stationary conditions and at their installation site using mobile mobile laboratories created on the basis of the vehicle DAMAS and equipped with exemplary measuring instruments: Energy monitor 3.1KM, OMICRON CT Analyser, VATANO 100., equipped with modern exemplary equipment

In 2015, the model VOTANO 100 measuring instrument manufactured by OMICRON (Austria) was purchased. In connection with the acquisition of VOTANO 100, it became possible to perform verification of voltage transformers of accuracy class 0.1 and below up to 800 kV.

The department has the ability to calibrate high-voltage current and voltage transformers having a large weight (weight) and large dimensions (dimensions) at the place of operation with the help of a mobile laboratory, created on the basis of a DAMAS vehicle and equipped with exemplary measuring instruments: K535 unit, accuracy class 0.005; resistance box P5018/1, accuracy class 4.0; current transformer I509, accuracy class 0.2; current and voltage unit MG-6800 III category; counter reference TsE6815 accuracy class 0.1.

 Laboratory for verification of inductance and capacitance, current and voltage transformers

The laboratory carries out work on the verification of measuring instruments for analog ammeters, voltmeters, wattmeters and varmeters of accuracy class 0.2÷0.5 at direct and alternating current up to 750 (1000) V, 10 A.

Certification and verification of small capacity measures KME-11 of II and III discharges in the range of 1.10-3÷10 pF using standard measures of small capacity of I category and an exemplary comparator MS-4002. The limits of the capacitance comparison are 1.10-7 ÷ 1.10-2 pF, the loss tangent is 1.10-8 ÷ 1.10-2. The limits of the permissible basic error in capacity are not more than ± (0.005 ± 1.10-4 /PF)%.

There are also exemplary measures of electrical resistance P310, P321, P331 in the range from 10-3 to 105 Ω, a set of resistors up to 1015 Ω. They are verified by means of electrical resistance of the 1st category on the UMIS installation. High-resistance electrical resistance measures in the range from 104 to 109 Ω, III category.

Laboratory for verification of digital measuring instruments of direct and alternating current, voltage of electrical and magnetic quantities

The laboratory carries out work on the verification of measuring instruments for digital ammeters, voltmeters, watt meters, multimeters, calibrators, ohmmeters, comparators of accuracy class from 0.001 and below at direct and alternating current up to 750 (1000) V, 10 A.

 Laboratory for the verification of potentiometers, resistance boxes and DC bridges

High-resistance electrical resistance measures in the range from 104 to 109 Ω, category III are verified by measuring the electrical resistance of the second category on the U401 installation using a Sh31 digital voltmeter, accuracy class 0.005.
